Why Dallas is a Great Place to Study Environmental
Dallas is a thriving city in central Texas with all the modern culture, amenities, jobs, housing, and educational opportunities one could want. Its air quality is generally good, there are parks and other places to hike and play, and the city and nonprofits actively educate and involve citizens in environmental stewardship. For example, the Storm Water Management Inspection Team educates and enforces water quality laws at construction and industrial sites, and also takes their programs to the public and to schools so that everyone can learn why and how to help. Recycling, composting, and responsible waste disposal are encouraged through programs such as the Dallas Recycling Demonstration Program. One cool feature to check out in Dallas is Fair Park, which is administered by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. It is home to nine museums and also the Music Hall and the Dallas Aquarium, conferences, markets, festivals, and more.
